Sunflower Friends Lil Pups

I have a card to share with you today that went in one of my last Operation Write Home boxes.  I found this cute digital image at Sunflower Friends, it's a digitally colored image and the miss you sentiment is by Paula at Handmade By Paula.

I used a Fiskars embossing plate to do the foot prints embossing on the top of the card as well as some of my Spellbinders dies, the cardstock colors are Via Vellum Brick, Nut Brown and Neenah Desert Sand, the image is printed on Mohawk Bright White.

Clear Dollar Stamps Triple Chicks

My card today uses the Clear Dollar Stamps digital stamp set Triple Chicks.  I found Howard Linen Sapphire Gray cover stock in my stash and though it would be a wonderful color scheme for my card.  The three chicks are colored digital images and the chicken wire background is  digital paper that comes in the stamp set as well as the sentiment.  I also used Papertrey Ink Smokey Shadow cardstock to cut my scalloped oval and border.  A pretty yellow organdy ribbon finished off my card.  Hmmm, it's monochromatic as well as clean and simple.

Adrianna by Hannah Lynn

I have a "just for fun" card to share with you today, she's Adrianna by Hannah Lynn, she comes as a rubber stamp from Crafts & Me.  She's colored with Copic markers and I tried the "halo affect" as a background for her.  Here is a list of the Copic markers I used:  R21, R22, R24, E47, E49, E44, E43, E99, E97, E31, E11, E00, E000, RV91, RV93, RV95, BV0000, YR24, YR21, YG97, YG95, YG93, BG10, BG000, BG0000.

My layout is Operation Write Home Stars & Stamps sketch #64.  My cardstock colors are Stampin' Up! Perfect Plum & Pale Plum with Via Vellum Black, the polka dotted panel I printed using black polka dotted digital paper onto SU Pale Plum.  The sentiment is by Papertrey Ink.  The black twine is actually white crochet thread colored with my 100 black Copic maker and I added a clear button and bow along with pearl earrings for Adrianna.

I really like the way she turned out!

Bug A Boo Stamps Flower Water Cans

Bug A Boo Stamps has freebie Tuesdays this month!  For my card I used today's freebie, you can find it here and the entire collection here.  I "need" to collect them all!

I colored my cute watering can with roses using Copic markers C4, C3, C2, C1, C00, G28, G24, G21, R29, R24, R22, R21, R20, my layout is a sketch from June 2010 at Cute Card Thursday that I added one more horizontal panel to for my Hero Arts Mother's Day sentiment.  I'm trying to work on "grounding" my images instead of letting them float in the air, it's odd for me but I want to keep learning new things and acquiring new coloring skills.  The cardstock colors I've used are Stampin' Up! Basic Gray & Orchid Opulence, Via Vellum Black, Neenah Solar White & Red Linen.

Bullfrogs & Butterflies by Designed 2 Delight

I've come across the Delightful Inspiration blog several times now and really enjoy looking at the eye candy and love the images that they're using.  The challenge is different than I've ever participated in too.  My understanding is you buy the first challenge image and participate to get the next weeks challenge image e mailed to you free.  If you keep up and play every week you have a new image to work with every week.  Sounds like fun to me, I hope I can keep up!

For my card today I used the Designed 2 Delight Bullfrogs & Butterflies set, the cute image is colored with Copic markers BV17, BV15, BV11, E44, E43, E42, E41, E40, V0000, V12, B12, BG11, BG10, R24, R22, R21, R20, YG17, YG13, YG11, YG05, YG03, YG01, YG0000, G99.

My layout is this weeks Operation Write Home Stars & Stripes sketch #66.  Cardstock colors are Neenah Solar White & Red Linen, Via Violet Linen & Bazzill ??? tan.  I also used a Spellbinders oval and scalloped oval for the sentiment that comes in the set, added a white organdy ribbon bow to bring some more balance to my card.  The embossing folder I used on the red strip is made by Sizzix but I'm not sure what it's called.

Doodle Pantry Easter Bunny

Happy Easter Sunday!

I know Easter isn't about bunnies, Easter is about our risen Savior and our loving Father's gift of life to us and I'm so thankful for that gift of life to the overflowing.  I hope you are having a blessed Easter Sunday with your family.  My blog post is set on auto post because that's where I am today-

My card today was an oops.  I think I read the challenge wrong, somewhere it said "white focus"...  I think, hehehe
I don't think there really is such a thing as a mistake in paper crafting, a creative opportunity is more like it.  This sweet Bunny image is by the Doodle Pantry and I used the colored version, my layout is clean and simple with some dry embossing.  The color I used for that "pop" is Via Vellum Cyan because it matches Laurie's outline so well and I have a ream of it I really need to use.

Have a blessed Easter!

Bug A Boo Stamps April Showers Challenge

I have a fun card to share with you today!

It's the start of a new challenge at Bug A Boo Stamps Catch The Bug, the theme is April Showers.  I chose this cute Bug A Boo Stamps chick because I'd downloaded some fun digital paper from Sara at The Sherlocks Home that would be perfect with it.

I colored my chick with Copic markers Y18, Y15, Y13, Y11, YG17, YG13, YG11, C00, C1, YR00, YR04, YR07, Y000.  My layout is Operation Write Home Stars & Stamps sketch #64 which was a difficult one for me - until I found some wonderful inspiration at Samantha's blog!  I loved her take on the sketch so I C.A.S.E.d her - I hope she's flattered...  The sentiment is from Create With TLC and the flowers are an old Quickutz die.

I hope you'll join us at Catch The Bug this week for our April Showers challenge!

Operation Write Home Monochromatic Challenge

I've been waiting to post my card today for a package of new Copic markers to arrive.  Waiting isn't easy in the age of instant everything...  the markers didn't show up but I did find out where they are so hopefully next week I'll have some new colors to play with.

I've been toying with the idea of non traditional hair colors and finally took the plunge for the Operation Write Home Midweek Throwdown Monochromatic challenge.  This is a Hannah Lynn mermaid that I cut out, she has sea turtles around her and I though purple turtles would look funny.  She's colored with Copic markers BV17, BV13, BV11, BV0000, BV00, BV01, BV02, E0000, E000, E00, Y19, Y15, Y13.   My layout is from the "I Need A Sketch" blog, she's so big I couldn't use the complete sketch so I improvised a little.  I added a punched photo corner with pearls to dress my card up too.  The sentiment is from a Papertrey Ink stamp set and the cardstock colors are Sorbet Grape, Discount Cardstock's Cobalt & Neenah Solar White.

Have a blessed Easter weekend!

Bug A Boo Stamps Ribbon Bear

Happy Day!  It's Oldie But Goodie Thursday at Bug A Boo Stamps Catch The Bug - my favorite day of the week!

As design team members we get to choose any of Jodi's digital images we'd like to showcase each Thursday.  I love being on the Bug A Boo Stamps team because I LOVE Jodi's artwork and I can choose what I'd like to play with - what could be more fun?!

For my card today I chose a Ribbon Bear, he's colored with Copic markers E44, E43, E42, R21, R22, B12, BV11.  Did you notice the kind of pink glow on the ribbon in the image?  I blended together B12 & BV11 to see what would happen.  I thought it was a pretty interesting and successful experiment!

I used patterned papers by Basic Grey Marrakech and my layout is Operation Write Home's sketch #65.  The sketch calls for a bow and Julie suggested we use the "fork method" for tying our bows.  OWH has a tutorial on just how to do that, I used the "Copic marker" method, hehehe. You'll have to check out the tutorial to get the humor.   The sentiment is from Create With TLC.

I hope you'll visit us at Bug A Boo Stamps Catch The Bug challenge blog to see all of our Oldie But Goodie Thursday creations, you still have time to get into our Easter challenge too!  Happy Thursday -

Doodle Pantry Super Birdie New Release

My card today is for the new release at Doodle Pantry!  I'm a guest designer for Doodle Pantry this month and I'm so excited to see all the new release images Laurie has come out with, they're a must see!

I chose to use the Super Birdie colored digital stamp set and coordinating digital papers.  My layout is a sketch from a few weeks ago.  The papers are Neenah Solar White, Papertrey Ink Enchanted Evening, Neenah Desert Khaki and of course the Doodle Pantry digital papers that came in the set.  I also used the Super Dad sentiment from the set, I thought this might be a cute Father's Day card for Operation Write Home.

There's also a new challenge that starts today at the Doodle Pantry challenge blog, it involves buttons and prizes!  Click here to go see what it's all about.

I have a picture of the set so you can see everything that comes with it.
I can't wait to play with the new colored and regular digital images that have come out at Doodle Pantry so stay tuned...
I hope you'll stop by the Doodle Pantry blog and store and have a look around!

Edited to add:  I've had a few visitors ask if the stars border on my card is a punch.  It's a die from My Favorite Things Stamps, you can find it here.  Thanks for asking!

A Peek Inside My Copic Coloring Book

I've been sneaking away from time to time to sit and color just for the fun of coloring and thought maybe you'd like a peek inside my Copic coloring book again today.

My first layout above is from a Copic coloring class I've been taking at Simply Scrapping Crafts with Lisa Futch.  I've written quick notes on the pages for myself in case I need to refer back to them.

Here's a close up of the little girl in the snow.  When I first saw this image I thought, ahhh no thanks.  Then I got out my Stampin' Up! color wheel and chose some colors that went together and started to color - I was wrong!  I love how this turned out, I've had a hard time with the Violets and Blue Violets so I'll keep working on them till I feel more comfortable.
My next layout is practicing coloring hair with Lisa's recommended hair colors and the images are Sara's at The Sherlock's Home.  I picked them up as freebies when linking off of the free digital stamp blog.

And here's a picture of my coloring book in case you haven't seen it yet and one more page I already posted last Saturday.  I'll be sharing more from my coloring book another day.

Edited to Add:  Melissa asked in a comment how my coloring book is put together. I used Bind It All 8 X 8 covers as well as the clear 8 X 8 pieces to protect the back & front.  The inside pages are Neenah Solar White, I was planning to do some rubber stamping and coloring directly in the book. I've been using digital images so I've been making a page to paste into my book instead. It's a little more bulky that way but it's working for me so far.  I just changed out my binding O wire to the largest Bind It All makes @ 1 1/4 inches.  If you'll click on my photos you'll get a closer look, I hope that makes sense.
Thanks for asking Melissa :)

Computer Ants by Doodle Pantry

I have a fun card to share with you today!
I made this for our Stamps R Us Bugs & Embossing challenge that kicks off today and runs for the next two weeks.  Our wonderful sponsor is Doodle Pantry and our team had the fun of working with some of Laurie's cute images.

I used the Doodle Pantry set Computer Bugs and colored with Copic markers BG0000, BG10, BG11, T5, T3, T2.  My layout is a "test" sketch by Julie at Operation Write Home.  I love sketches so I hope it was okay that I used it.  I added a touch of embossing and my card was ready to go.

The cardstock colors are Via Vellum Basic Black, Papertrey Ink Smokey Shadow & Aqua Mist and of course Neenah Solar White.

I made a second card for the Doodle Pantry blog using the cute Computer Ants.

I wondered what red ants would look like...
Again I colored with Copic markers E59, R59, R37, T3, T2, T1.
My layout was mostly trying to figure out how to fit the large image on my card and show it off.  I had to sleep on it.

I added the clickity, Click sentiment.  To cover the seam I used the strip of Basic Grey & Cranberry and thought a line of metal dots would help bring it all together.  I matted the image on Stampin' Up! Basic Grey and the Cranberry cardstock is made by Thepapermill.com, it went through a Cuttlebug embossing folder.

I hope you'll join us for our Bugs & Embossing challenge at the Stamps R Us challenge blog and go visit Laurie at the Doodle Pantry too, she has so many cute "bug" images!

Hannah Lynn Maxine Mermaid - Copic Coloring Book

Please scroll down to the next post if you are here for our Operation Write Home Sticker Skip~

I discovered a new (to me) digital as well as rubber stamp artist recently that I have to share with you.  Her name is Hannah Lynn Disney, she's no relation to the Disney you may be thinking.  Her drawings are just wow and I've been having a really good time coloring them.

The photo above is the cover of my Copic coloring book and I'd like to share a peek inside my Copic coloring book with you today of a Hannah Lynn coloring page that I colored with Copic markers.  The images on my coloring book cover are by Bug A Boo Stamps.

I scanned and reduced the coloring page so it would fit in my Copic coloring book.  All the marker colors I've used are listed for my future reference and for you to see too.  I used Copic Blending Solution on the water behind her, spritzing it on with a spray mister bottle and overfilling a blender pen to get it to drip onto the blue and leave rings & I also just dotted some on with the marker.

You can find Hannah Lynn digital and rubber stamps at Crafts and Me, as well as her Etsy Store and her web site.  I've put links in each for you so you can go check out Hannah Lynn art for yourself!  I hope you like her as much as I do-

Stampin' Up! In Full Bloom Simply Scrappin'

Welcome to our Operation Write Home Sticker Skip, if you've arrived here from Erica's blog you're on the right track.  If you'd like to start at the beginning click here.

Sticker skip, sticker skip, sticker skip...  I can't say that three times without messing up!

There's been some discussion lately at OWH TV about "Sticker Sneeze" so we challenged each other to make cards using stickers - no sneezing allowed!

My goal today is to show you how I used stickers to make a collection of cards for Operation Write Home.  I started by searching my stash of goodies for some stickers, my kids offered to share theirs with me and I did look them over.  They were all too small for what I was thinking.  I did find a few Stampin' Up! Simply Scrappin' kits that were partially used and thought they'd be a fun challenge to play with.

Here's a picture of what I started with.  You'll notice I've printed a few sketches to refer to as well.

This is one of my first cards, my layout is Splitcoast Stampers SC#327.  I used one of the largest flower stickers in place of my stamped image, I tried to use the cardstock in the kit and the "Mom" is a digital sentiment from a Clear Dollar Stamps set.  For a little added interest I used the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder on the Sage Shadow panel.

This next card I put the flower stickers on 1 1/8th" punched circles that I matted with 1 1/4" punched circles.  My layout was most likely a sketch but I don't remember where I saw it.  I used a Spellbinders ribbon slide for the Miss You sentiment which is also digital by Create With TLC.

For this card I used OWH Sketch #27 for my layout.  The flower and strip beside the sentiment are stickers.  Happy Mother's Day is a rubber stamp.

Here's OWH Sketch #30, the flower and patterned strip are stickers.  I added embossing under the strip using the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder on just part of the panel.

This is Splitcoast Stampers SC#327 again.

Can you tell after I got started this became a fun challenge?

And a picture of the work table (kitchen table).  I tried to use my old Stampin' Up! punches and keep the tools to a minimum.  I like the look of the embossed panels so the Cuttlebug came out.  I love the Spellbinders dies and couldn't resist using a couple of those as well.

I hope you enjoyed seeing how I used the stickers from a retired Stampin' Up! Simply Scrappin' kit to make some cards today.  Don't forget to leave a comment at each stop to be in the draw for a prize!

Bug A Boo Stamps Bunny Squares

I have a clean and simple card for our new challenge at Bug A Boo Stamps Catch The Bug to share with you today.  Our theme is Easter so I used Jodie's Bunny Blocks and colored them with Copic markers YG11, YG13, RV00, RV02, T2, T1, B23, B21.

My layout is so clean and simple it almost looks naked to me.  I used 2 of the Bunny Blocks, the blocks on the outsides are the same I just flipped one of them so it mirrored the other side.  The Easter Blessings is a font from my computer.

I hope you'll visit our Catch The Bug challenge blog and join us for our Easter challenge!

Clear Dollar Stamps New Release Sentimental Fruit

Clear Dollar Stamps is releasing new digital images today!
I chose to showcase the Sentimental Fruit digital set using the colored Cherries image and wouldn't you know I got a little carried away!  I just couldn't stop at one card using just the cherries the whole set is so cute!

I used an Operation Write Home sketch as my layout and changed the proportions ever so slightly.  The cardstock colors are Stampin' Up! Garden Green, The Paper Mill Cranberry, Neenah Solar White, Sorbet Ice Blue and the fun patterned paper  & sentiment come in the digital stamp set.

My apple card uses the same layout, I just had to see what the apple and matching digital paper would look like!

And then there was this cute pear and sentiment that inspired me...

Since I used three panels for the pear image I had to see how three cherry panels could look.  I know, I know I'm a nut.  But it's a fun kind of nutty!

I think this digital stamp set will be perfect for making cards for Operation Write Home.  Here's a picture of everything it includes below.

Ahhh, I do have the orange and coordinating digital paper printed I just haven't got the card made yet.

Bug A Boo Stamps Stella

I wanted to title my blog post Stella The Stalker by Bug A Boo Stamps but don't want all the SPAM comments that come with it to moderate!  Have you noticed you have to be careful with that?  A little innocent fun and we get all the weirdo spammers...

It's Oldie But Goodie Thursday at Bug A Boo Stamps Catch The Bug!  One of my favorite days of the week!  For my card today I used Stella, she was printed and waiting to be colored.  I used Copic markers B28, B24, B23, C6, C3, C1, C0, YG11, YG13, YG17, E0000, E000, E00, E01, E02, R27, R24, R22, R21.  My layout is sketch challenge #78 from Just Us Girls a few weeks ago.

I really like this sketch with the circle going off the page.  If I would have planned this out I would have taken my Stella image and flipped it in my Publisher software before I printed her so the circle would be on the same side as the sketch.  But... sketches are supposed to be used for inspiration so I adapted it to work for my fun image.

The sentiment that's printed on my red panel comes with Stella, I stretched it just a little to fit my sketch layout.  The cardstock used are Via Vellum Basic Black, Via Vellum Leaf Green, Neenah Solar White, Neenah Red Linen, Stampin' Up! Brilliant Blue & Blush Blossom.  I used round Spellbinders dies to cut Stella out and also used the "out of the box" technique then added a row of black metal dots to the SU Blush Blossom strip.  Oh, I added a touch of crystal lacquer to her glasses for some shine/glare.

I hope you'll stop by  our Bug A Boo Stamps Catch The Bug challenge blog today to see all the fabulousness our design team has come up with for Oldie But Goodie Thursday!

Hannah Lynn Forever Rose

I recently discovered a challenge blog called Crafts & Me, they also have a store where I found this beautiful image by Hannah Lynn called Forever Rose.  I've colored her 4 times now with different colored hair and eyes and every time I'm finished I have to say, wow...  she's beautiful!

She's colored with Copic markers:
Hair:  E79, E74, E71, E70
Eye:  B97, B93, B91
Skin: E01, E00, E000
Rose:  R85, R83, R81, G28

Our Midweek Throwdown challenge at Operation Write Home Stars & Stamps is "layers".  I think she qualifies!  I used OWH Sketch #62 (again) turned up side down.  The cardstock colors are Nut Brown, Stampin' Up! Rose Romance, Discount Cardstock Royal Blue, Neenah Desert Sand and Solar White.  The "miss you" is a stamp from a Papertrey Ink stamp set.  I thought she'd be a nice miss you card for my OWH stash.

Doodle Pantry Sheep

Here's that sketch again, it's OWH sketch #62.

I have a few Doodle Pantry cards to share with you today, I feel a little behind.  I've had this cute Lucky Sheep image printed but hadn't used it yet.  One of the sentiments that goes with it says, "Have A Happy Go Lucky Day", I used it for the inside of my card.  The shamrock paper is digital and comes in the stamp set, I was lucky enough to have one sheet of Pop Tones green cardstock that matched and I also used Stampin' Up! Garden Green and Papertrey Ink Spring Rain.

My second card uses the same sketch and the Doodle Pantry's Easter Sheep digital stamp set.  I used the matching digital Easter egg paper that comes in the set as well as Sorbet Ice Blue & Stampin' Up! Orchid Opulence cardstock.

My card today is made with a colored digital image made by Sunflower Friends, this bunny comes in a set called Easter Cuties, the paper is also digital and comes in the Easter Collection 102 set.  A quick and easy card to make using Splitcoast Stampers Sketch #300.  I also used a Sizzix embossing folder and Spellbinders oval and scalloped oval dies.  The cardstock colors are Nut Brown, Royal Blue & Bright White.

I like the chocolate bunny she has with her Easter eggs in her basket, I'm going with her!

Easter Bunny by Rubbernecker Stamp Co.

I've been playing with acetate report covers again!

I borrowed this cute bunny stamp made by Rubbernecker Stamp Co. and just had to make a fun tag.  I used an old Sizzix tag die, I cut it twice so I could make a long tag.  It's pieced together under the panel that the bunny sits on.  I covered the back and the front so no one but you and I will ever know...

I had to re ink my long neglected Stazon White & Black ink pads before I could do any stamping.  I stamped the swirls on the acetate using a Hero Arts background stamp and White Stazon ink.  After the white ink dried I stamped Happy Easter from a Papertrey Ink acrylic stamp set in Black Stazon and let it dry.

The Bunny is colored with Copic markers BV0000, BV01, YG01, YG06, YR15, YR16, YR18, R02, R05 cut out and mounted using foam tape.  I added three black half pearls and ribbon to finish my tag.

It fits in a legal sized envelope and I gave it to my friend who I'd borrowed the bunny stamp from.

Have a blessed day!

Bug A Boo Stamps Spring Stuff Collection

Happy Saturday!
We have a new challenge starting today at Bug A Boo Stamps Catch The Bug, the theme is "layers".  The challenge is to use 4 or more layers on your card or project.

For my card I colored the cute bee and flower from Jodie's Spring Stuff collection with Copic markers Y18, Y15, Y13, T5, T3, BV0000, BV000, BV01, BV02, G20, G24, E44, E43, BG10, BG0000.  My layout is Splitcoast Stampers SC#327 flipped.

The reason I flipped it was to add the tag in the bare spot by the stem of the flower.  I could have added three black half pearls to the bottom like the sketch but chose not to.

I used my Stampin' Up! color wheel again for my color choices, after I'd colored the image I realized the Basic Grey Kioshi paper pad has those tones and I found an old (really old) Stampin' Up! 6X6 sampler DP pad to help pull everything together.  I don't think I've ever used two different manufacturers designer paper pads together before.  The sentiment I picked up as a freebie the other day at the Scap-a-licious Times blog by linking off of the Free Digi Stamps blog.  A little Stickles Ice on the bee wings covered with crystal lacquer and a button for my tag to finish my card.

I hope you'll join in for our challenge at Bug A Boo Stamps Catch The Bug this week!
